In 2007, we were asked edit the launch issue of Commercial Sense, a B2B magazine for RBS Business customers owning medium-sized companies with a turnover in excess of £2million. The monthly title was designed to promote loyalty amongst the customer base, demonstrating RBS’s financial and business expertise, while cross-promoting their investment and pension services.
With most finance titles, the tone needed to be business-like, information-heavy and straight to the point, with RBS experts used to add value and weight to the advice and insight given through interviews, case studies and features. The launch was deemed a success, with the publisher enjoying a long and fruitful relationship with the bank that continues to this day.
